Dr. Dennis Langwith is a respected orthodontic practitioner with an impressive record of service to his patients, the dental profession, and the communities his practice serves. He feels privileged to treat children of previous patients and enjoys the trust of numerous family members for their complete orthodontic needs. He makes every effort to live up to their expectations and provides them with the most positive experience.
Dr. Langwith completed his undergraduate work at Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois. During his studies at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, he was awarded special recognition in two areas: orthodontics and radiology. After graduation, he served in the United States Navy as a dentist and attained the rank of Lieutenant Commander.
Dr. Langwith chose the University of Iowa for his specialty education in orthodontics and was privileged to study under Dr. John S. Casko — one of America’s most accomplished and respected professors.
In 1980, Dr. Langwith entered partnership with Dr. David Kinser, a leader in the Des Moines-area dental community, and opened an office in Ankeny. It is now the Ankeny branch of Iowa Orthodontic Solutions. Dr. Langwith enjoys mentoring college graduates who wish to pursue a career in the dental profession. To date, he has been an influential figure in more than a dozen men’s and women’s journeys to dental degrees.
Always willing to get directly involved in his craft, Dr. Langwith has served as president of both the Iowa Society of Orthodontists and the Des Moines District Dental Society. He is on the board of the Des Moines Area Community College’s dental hygiene program, where he was a program faculty member for eleven years. He is also a member of the American Association of Orthodontists and the American Dental Association, with a recognized specialty in orthodontics.
Outside the Office
Dr. Langwith is native of Davenport. He has always loved the great state of Iowa and gladly settled here with his wife and children. He is a lifelong Iowa Hawkeye fan and enjoys traveling in all its forms.
